PROGRAMMING MAGIC MODULE
|
Can’t connect to the module
The problem is that many people are using a serial cable,
but 5 cables-straight. To connect to the module you have to get a 9 cables-straight.
Many users of the magic module think they can use the cable which they use
to program their card. That will not work, I’ve advised many
people to buy a new cable (a 9-pin serial cable, 9
cables straight). All of them are capable to program the magic module.
The module has to be inserted into the receiver or a
laptop, before you can program the magic module. The
module needs the voltage of 5 volts to be programmed.
Is your module in dreamload
mode? If you already have software on the module than
you need to activate the loader. You can activate the
loader in the menu of your receiver:
1 Go to your menu
2 Choose Common Interface (CI)
3 Choose the Magic Module (Pentacrypt)
4 Choose Activate Loader
5 Choose Yes.
Now your Magic
Module is in dreamload-mode.
Try again.

My new module doesn’t work |
Before you can use your new module, you have to program
it first. You need an interface card to program the
module (go to our page)
|
Magicloader |
The Magicloader, is a program
to transfer software to the Magic Module. You can only
transfer the software with an interface-card. (go to our page)
|
Pentacrypt -
GammaCrypt - TetraCrypt |
These are software packages which can be installed in
the Magic Module. The latest software is the Pentacrypt.
Before Pentacrypt there was GammaCrypt and TetraCrypt.
This software can be installed with the Magicloader
and an interface-card.
|
How do I use the interface-card? |
You have to insert the interface-card into the Magic
Module, the connectors of the interface-card needs to be on top.
|
How do I know if the
interface-card is working? |
If you’ve inserted the module
into the receiver and turned on, than you
will see a green led on the interface-card. If you start
programming the Magic Module you will see the red led.
|
How to place the Smartcard?
|
The connectors (chip) of the smartcard should be at the top.
|
In which CI-slot do I have
to use the Magic Module?
|
It’s advised to place the Magic
Module into the second CI-slot of your receiver.

More versions of the Magic
Module |
Watch out! There are also
fake modules! They don’t have 2 MB memory, but 1 MB.
So, they are not ready for the future. There are
3
versions of the Magic Module, both with a picture of a
wizard. At the back of the module you can see the
version, only 1.01 and 1.02 are real
and the 1.03 version with a
3d Hologram
|
Magic Module 1.03 is 1.02
|
Watch out! Don’t pay more for a
Magic Module 1.03! This version is produced in Taiwan
and should be sold in Europe. It’s the same module as the Magic Module 1.02. The
Magic Module 1.03 is not a fake module
|
Magic Module and a Notebook |
Some people think they
don’t need an interface-card when they want to program
the Magic Module on a notebook. That’s not correct,
the software can only be transferred to the Magic Module
through an interface-card. The notebook can only supply
the electricity (5 volts) which the module needs to be
programmed.
